Sticky Regarding the Kalamir kickoff & its future

Regarding the Kalamir kickoff & its future

Greetings,

After a long discussion followed by the poll about the doing of the so-named kickoff Kalamir, the Section Leaders have decided to discuss the matter with the creator of the poll, Fabian.

After hours of debate, we have come to a conclusion that should fit for everyone. Not everyone will be completely happy with it, but it is a way somewhere in the middle.

From this day forward, the stated rules shall be complied with:
1. Doing the Kalamir is only allowed during the first half of a match. That is to say, 7:30 minutes in a 15 minutes match, 4:30 minutes in a 9 minutes match.
2. Rams before a kickoff are completely forbidden. No matter the kickoff, doing the action will result in an arena kick.

Also to not cause any kind of confusion we have the following guidelines:
3. In case 1 won't be followed, the arena creator will specify if it allowed or not.
4. Say you have been asked to stop the kalamir (during the first half of the match), but was not specified whether it was allowed before the arena started. You will decide yourself. You won't be kicked regardless.

These rules and guidelines will from this day forward be official carball rules and to be followed by any Tournament or League created within the Neon Carball Server, and will also apply in casual/private matches.

Remember, Section Leaders' word is final in this matter, and these rules will not be under any form of discussion until some time has passed and we have all experienced how this will work. Please be free to share your opinions under this thread.

Yours,
The Section Lead.

For my surprise, the decision is well made. It's a compromise option. I have a question though. What are the consequences gonna be in case someone does that kickoff after 7:30 minutes have passed in an official match (clubwars, tournaments and so on...)? I mean, that's it? Kicking him out and playing 2vs3 if they have to?

General rules. In case of tournaments and so, you have to be kicked three times (pingkicks, or arenakicks) in order to not be able to join the arena again.

If the guy does the kickoff after the half of the match, he will be kicked, and will count as an arenakick. When he gets kicked three times in total, they will have to play 2v3.

Carballlogic:
Step1 : Try to forbidd something
Step2 : Start a poll
Step3 : gonna lose this poll
Step4 : gonna try to find compromisses before i lose the poll completly WTF?

Thats not a secret that player like Ivo and Frenk are one of the best of all time.
But these 2 people had 1 weak and this was kick off.
So now the strong player get stronger and the weak player get weaker.
The only thing what i could better than a Frenk was Kickoff and now its 50% nerfed.
Should i start now a poll against this Compromise ? and if i gonna lose it try to find another compromise ?
dude cmon this cant be serious ...

It's all about perspective. You can see that the vote is currently 17-17. Half the community agrees on one thing, and half the other on the other thing. We tried to find common ground. This is it. Not everyone is happy with it, we understand. We also aren't, but we believe this is for the best.

I would take harsher actions. Players like Foltn with the risk of pingkicks care about this. Ofc they dont want to get even more kicks but players like Party with a good ping could just think that they can do it 1 or 2 more times cuz they dont get kicked for other reasons anyways.

You shouldn't look at the world as black and white. Slightly less than half of the people wanted to forbid it, and half wanted it to stay. This rule reflects that perfectly.

Edit: didn't read further, then noticed Kath wrote exactly the same thing :okay:

Edit2: as far as punishment goes, if the player does it after one kick, or after being warned by the referee, in my opinion he should not continue to play (clearly does not respect the rules, and in this case abuses the rule that he can be kicked three times...).

Just bring an alarm to every match
Don’t know how hard it would be to script just a message in the screen at halftime. “Kalamir kickoffs forbidden” for the rest of the match.. but well.. scripting :okay:

I like the idea don’t get me wrong just not sure how to moderate it, I guess many players can easily miss the time. But then again this rule is to be followed by players so they have to pay attention I guess. I’m interested to see how this works in a month or so.

Goodjob for regulating :likeasir:
Image not found!
I also think that the consequences after doing kalamir when it has already been forbidden must be much more serious:
1) the time to return from an arenakick is about 2 sec and if you add 2-3 more sec while the car is flying in front of the goal without the ability to move exactly after joining the arena it makes a total of 5 seconds to fully recover from an arenakick and be able to play normally again. The same amount of time takes to recover from the bouncing between both walls from the kalamir. So i think that players can easily abuse this and do kalamir at least twice (depends on how many people can do it) after it has already been forbidden

2) during a competitive match , if the referee announces that kalamir is no longer allowed with big red words, i think that it wont be left unnoticed by anyone on the field that is not blind. So i think that if kalamir is done after the halftime, the player is either retatded or has the obvious will to abuse.

Thats why i think that if someone makes a kalamir after it has been forbidden (in competitive matches) he should be kicked permanently from the current arena and either be replaced by a sub or his team to be left playing 2v3 (if they dont have a sub)
