Protest against the EU Copyright Reform on 23 March 2019

      Dear all,

maybe probably hopefully you have already heard of the EU Copyright Reform. It is/was in the trends of various social media sites under tags like #Article13 or #Article11. I won't go into detail on why it's very bad for all internet citizens, because this is described on various pages on the internet.

Visit Save the Internet for more information and to sign the petition against it, if you haven't done so already.

We are participating at an event of the site Foren gegen Upload-Filter - 385 Foren mit 15,7 Mio Mitgliedern gegen Art13 (unfortunately german-only) where forums go down on 23 March 2019 (for the whole day). So be aware you will not be able to use our forum on this day. If the new reform will be accepted, the Neon forum is very likely to be going private and only accessible to a core community via a password.

Also, keep in mind this is not a Germany-thing, but affects the whole EU. Germany is only one of the shithole countries that fueled this idiocy.

You may ask questions and discuss this topic here.

germany is dumm wie scheisse sometimes...
Most importantly go to the demonstrations next to you and show that you are against #article13, #article12 and #article11 of the EU copyright reform to save the internet as we know it. Demonstrate against the upcoming #uploadfilter every usual internet user knows are bullshit and not even possible for small platforms, just like our forum for example. If you join the demonstration in Cologne, you might find me there.

And watch out for the politicians and parties that voted for those articles. Remember their names till the 23rd and the 26th of May and go and vote against them at the European elections.

In Germany it's easy: CDU/CSU and parts of the SPD will vote for it (currently the 2 biggest German parties in the European parliament). Simply don't vote for them. And don't even think about voting for the AfD. #NieMehrCDU #NieMehrCSU #NieMehrSPD #NiemalsAfD

Die Linke (GUE/NGL), Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Greens/EFA), Piratenpartei (Pirate Party;Greens/EFA) and FDP (ALDE) and of course Die PARTEI (independent) would be possible options you could vote for.

I don't know the possible options for other countries, but I think if you inform yourself about #article13 in your national press, you can find the correct answer to this question.

Even though I might not reach out to even one of you, I can say that I tried. :bitchplease:

tl;dr: Go to the demonstrations at the 23rd of March (see you in Cologne) and vote at the European election!
